since young, i have been following my grandma for "yum cha"...nvr seemed to like it (prefer fast food restaurant like many other kids). but it has become part of life...u know, like foodcourt in singapore...it's a "must-do" for all HK-ers, especially during weekends. It provides a venue for families to get together, eat-talk-eat.
but now, "yum cha" kind of become an "enjoyable" experience to me.
i start to like the "food" that i dun used to like, e.g. "ha gao", "cheong fen", "feng zhua"...
i start to appreciate "tea" esp "pu er" for its "slimming effect"
i start to enjoy sitting in the round table, chatting or listening to others chat...
"yum cha" is definitely wat i called "culture" -- refers to patterns of human activity and the symbolic structures that give such activity significance.
how nice it is to be part of it and how nice it is to be able to appreciate it.
i guess i will be missing it a lotx........ 11:03:00 PM
